Cricket evenings at Arnold Playing Fields have taken on a new energy over the past few weeks. Every Tuesday from **6:30 PM to 8:30 PM**, the ground comes alive with the sound of young players learning, laughing, and pushing themselves under the guidance of **Srikanth Gubuli**, the long‑standing captain of Poplars Cricket Club.

Srikanth, who has led Poplars CC for the last **four years** and guided the club to **three promotions**, brings a rare combination of experience, discipline, and passion to junior coaching. His own playing record speaks for itself — **1689 runs**, **11 fifties**, **2 centuries**, a highest score of **154\***, and a career average of **48.26** across 49 matches. But beyond the numbers, it’s his calm teaching style and ability to break down technique that makes him a favourite among young cricketers.

Over the last two training blocks, the sessions have been a huge success. Kids have been introduced to the fundamentals of **batting**, **bowling**, and **fielding**, with each week focusing on a different skill set. From grip and stance to bowling action, footwork, catching drills, and match awareness, the programme is designed to build confidence and improve technique in a fun, supportive environment.

As we continue this journey, Poplars Cricket Club remains committed to creating a safe, friendly, and inspiring space for young players to grow — not just as cricketers, but as confident individuals.

If you’re looking for a positive, energetic, and skill‑focused cricket programme for your child, this is the perfect time to join. Bring your kids along on Tuesday evenings and let them experience the joy of cricket with one of the club’s most accomplished players. Please contact dr.sampara@gmail.com.

We look forward to welcoming the next generation of Poplars cricketers.
